our precious time here

I recently visited the adorable little town I was born and raised in. Many many moons have passed since I lived there. Now that I am all grown-up it caused me to reflect on the preciousness of our time here. In the past decade I've had many friends pass away. As the years go by one can truly feel the gift of being alive each day. Seize it!

It's challenging to accept "what is" when we are in stressful or transition filled times. But when are we not in some type of transition? When is it all calm and peaceful? Maybe we have brief moments throughout each day that are calm or joyful but not sustainable for too long. When I was younger I needed someone to gently nudge me to lighten up. As a deep thinker I could get pretty carried away. Not that being older is suddenly easier, it's just that the patterns become more familiar and we can watch them come and go without reacting.

How are we going to live out our precious lives? What will we do to build joy and peace...moment by moment, which is essentially all we have. Will we be okay with uncertainty and can we train our minds in letting go? Do we always have to be so sure of what we want or know or can we open to a new way of feeling and thinking? As I continue to train as a warrior, I'm hoping to become more agile and friendly with myself and others. I want to wake up each day knowing that there are many possibilities to create, love and enjoy this precious life.

Peace,
Yoga Jane
